Update

Dr. Louis just wanted to do a follow-up with Reese. It seems like the almond situation is a very long shot, but to play it safe we are going back next week for a final check with him. It's great to have a very cautious, thorough doc, but I will be glad when we are appointment-free! And no more almonds (or any nuts) until Reese is 4.....

So sorry you are dealing with a sick baby! And- hopefully an almond is not stuck in her lung! How terrible! Did the doctor say you shouldn't give children nuts until age 4? I know they are Number 1 or 2 on the "may cause choking in babies" list- but I thought they could start eating them around age 2. Maybe I should stop giving RJ cashews every day......

I thought the only risks were allergies and choking--which are big risks--but nuts also break into hard, small pieces that they can suck back into their lungs if they start choking on them--which is what happened to R on Saturday. I guess that goes under the "choking risk" section though?? Too bad b/c R loves nuts and doesn't get much meat protein so I was really happy she was eating them. :(
