Sleepy days, restless nights

Coming up for air and to post a few recent pics. We're doing well, but I have to be honest: days are really blurring together right now. Some nights we get decent-ish sleep, some nights we don't. But overall, we're doing well and adjusting to life as a family of four.

Reese is teaching Weston to chill out and watch some TV....


Reese had pajama day at school--she was excited to wear her ballerina jammies out and about (pink slippers too)!


Reese is such a sweet and loving big sis. There have been no "when is he going back in your tummy" comments (yet) and she's always wanting to love on him.


Which Weston seems to appreciate. We're enjoying all of his new expressions and the awareness that comes with more awake time.


Now we are going to have to work on fine-tuning our nighttime schedule....

Baby stats!

We had Weston's 1 month check up today and our big boy weighs a whopping 9 lbs., 6 oz.! He's also grown to 20 3/4 inches! Our pediatrician was visibly tickled by how much he has grown and how quickly it's happened! He told us that in his first month, Weston has gained about as much as you'd expect in 3 months...wow!!! Obviously, he's an enthusiastic eater!

Alas, it wasn't meant to be...but we were certainly in the proper spirit for the championship game. What a heartbreaker it was!

We sometimes refer to Weston as "the goat" because of the little bleating noises he makes. Here's the opposite: a goat that yells like a man! Just try not to laugh....I dare you...

Taking the plunge

So, on January 1, we headed over to the Shiflets house for their annual polar bear plunge into their unheated pool. David, Cord and one other guy (not sure of his name?) were the brave souls who jumped in the freezing water...and got back out into the freezing air. It's been really cold here, folks! Anyway, I am not cleared for swimming yet post-delivery, or else I totally would(n't) have done it....

Happy 2010!

I realize I am waaaay behind on getting up a Christmas post, but rather than start the new year by looking back to '09 (which was a pretty good year, all in all, for us), I'd start with a new post about the new year....or at least NYE! Also, we're nowhere near finished downloading Christmas '09, so this will suffice for now! Thanks to Monique & Erin for the pics....
